'Maha Muqabla' Ends and the Finalists of Nach Baliye Revealed!

A nail-biting shoot for the four jodis - Rakhi Sawant-Abhishek Awasthi, Kashmera Shah-Krushna Abhishek, Amita Chandekar-Karan Patel and Sanjeeda Sheikh-Aamir Ali, as they waited with bated breath, empty stomach for that important announcement - Who will be the first pair to go into the finals?

Here's what we saw and heard in the three hour-long shoot, which will be shown on Friday. Every segment of the episode was introduced and wrapped up with a robust playing of dhol and cymbals. A group of musicians was specially called in to play the Ganpati visarjan kind of tapori music. The beats were so catchy that not one stiff shoulder could resist from swaying to them.

Amita Chandekar looked pretty in a halter neck green and black gown while Sanjeeda looked lovely in a floral dress. Her yellow sandals only added to her pretty picture. Kashmera and Krushna stuck to each other like Siamese twins. They were the only couple to not leave their sides while the rest kept changing their seats. Rakhi looked petite and slimmer in her black dress than her screen avatar prompting her fans to comment on her weight loss.

Nach Baliye 1 runner-up jodi, Poonam Narula and Manish Goel danced to the 'Hoton pe aisi baat' Jewel Thief number. While Poonam faulted in her steps, she insisted on hearing the judges' remarks after their performance. David Dhawan said, 'Poonam, you had a lot of energy and that little weight you have, also looked good'. Vaibhavi Merchant commented on Manish's great attempt to ape Dev Anand's famous gait.

For this Friday episode, Sanjeeda and Amita have performed to the Deedar de song, while Rakhi and Kashmera have done the Badi mushkil number from Lajja, Krushna and Abhishek have matched steps to Shahid Kapoor's Nagada number while Sanjeeda-Amita and Aamir and Karan performed on Jeene ke hain chaar din. Looking at them dance, Vaibhavi said, 'They are dancing better with their same-sex partners than their real jodis. May be next season should have jodis of a different kind.'

Krushna was the uncrowned winner of the episode as every one from the judges to fans to co-contestants praised his dancing style effusively And finally, Krushna was overwhelmed when Manish said, 'Dancing mein toh main aapka naakhun hoon. Aap bahut hi achche dancer hain.' A beaming Kashmera soaked in all the praise.

And finally the moment of truth came when Pulkit Samrat, better known as Lakshya of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi took out a pack of cards and asked Vaibhavi to pick any one. He then took a small wire and lit it with a lighter to give out a pattern of 7D.

He asked Vaibhavi what card she had chosen. She said, '7 Diamond' and then Pulkit announced amidst a thundering applause the name of the jodi, which happened to be "Jodi Number 7, Sanjeeda aur Aamir".

Congratulations followed by Oscar-like speeches by the jodi as they thanked everyone while the judges just stopped short of weeping tears of joy. Meanwhile, the other three jodis kept their smiles intact despite disappointment writ large on their body language, as they trudged into
their respective make up vans for some quick lunch followed by rehearsals, for the last time to woo the jury.

With the first finalist selected, the shoot for the Saturday episode saw the three remaining jodis performing one last time, as their fate now lies in the hands of our esteemed judges & special guest Dia Mirza. The marks they get from the judges would add to their marks from the earlier maha muqabla rounds plus the audience votes they polled till December 9. Dia Mirza answers the above questions in a unique way, as she took to the stage & clicked a picture of the 2nd finalist to put up on the Nach Baliye Wall of Fame, and she does it in grand style, as she announces Rakhi-Abhishek as the 2nd Jodi to make it to the Finale on December 22nd..

Don't miss the announcement of the 2 finalists amidst high drama, energy & masti on Friday & Saturday, Dec 14 & 15 @ 8 pm only on Star Plus.
